Mokwa Flood Victims Receive Critical Aid from CCN and Act Alliance

On Thursday, May 29, 2025, the community of Mokwa Local Government Area faced a devastating flood that resulted in immense loss of life and property.
As families mourned the loss of loved ones and livelihoods, a desperate need for humanitarian intervention emerged.
In a powerful response, the Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN), in partnership with ACT Alliance Global, launched a critical aid project to support the affected communities.
This initiative provided more than just material support; it offered a message of hope and resilience in a time of great despair.

A survivor’s heartbreaking account in a new video details the chaos of the event, with one victim recalling the loss of “close to ₦500,000 fish” in his pond and another speaking of losing multiple family members.
The Mokwa flood victims project focused on comprehensive support. With a goal to assist 320 households, totaling over 4,000 individuals, the team provided both essential non-food items like bedding and kitchen supplies, as well as a crucial cash transfer for food.
The project’s impact was not just physical. It was also a spiritual and communal effort, as a community leader’s message of peaceful coexistence between Christians and Muslims underscored the spirit of unity in the face of disaster.

The success of this intervention demonstrates the power of compassion in action, and the CCN remains committed to helping the Mokwa flood victims in their long-term recovery.
