A New Era of Unity, Service, and Vision for the Body of Christ in the South
West.
Abeokuta, Ogun State — September 5, 2024:
In a spirit of thanksgiving, unity, and renewed vision, the Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN),
South West Zone, has officially inducted a new set of Zonal Officers and inaugurated a fresh
Executive Council to steer the affairs of the zone for the coming years.
The induction ceremony, which took place at The African Church Solution Camp, Leme,
Abeokuta, drew participants from across the South West region and beyond. It was a day of
solemn commitment, joyful celebration, and heartfelt prayers for divine guidance.
The induction was conducted by the National Vice President, His Eminence, Most Rev. Dr.
Sunday O. Matilukuro, Primate of the First African Church Mission (FACM), and National
Secretary of the Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN), Very Rev. Dr. Evans Onyemara,
(Bishop-Elect), representing the national leadership of the Council.



A Legacy of Service and Commitment
In his goodwill message, the immediate past Zonal Chairman, The Rt. Rev’d Dr. S. T. V.
Adegbite, congratulated the new leadership and assured them of his unwavering support both
morally and spiritually. He pledged an annual donation of ₦100,000 to sustain the Zonal Bible Quiz Competition, earmarking ₦50,000, ₦30,000, and ₦20,000 for the first, second, and third positions
respectively.
In addition, he promised to donate three trophies for the same purpose — an inspiring gesture
that reflects his passion for Christian education and youth development.
Bishop Adegbite, fondly known as “Hakuna Matata,” is a respected Bishop in Methodist
Church Nigeria and currently serves as the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian
Pilgrim Commission (NCPC).

Charting a New Course of Unity and Impact
In his inaugural address, the newly inducted Zonal Chairman, The Rt. Rev’d Dr. Jeremiah T.
Okunlola, expressed deep appreciation to God and to the CCN leadership for the confidence
reposed in him.
He reaffirmed his commitment to building upon the solid foundation laid by his predecessors,
outlining four key priorities for his administration:
He also called on all members, elders, and fathers in the faith to offer their unflinching support,
prayers, and active participation to move the South West Zone forward.
Honouring Past Service
As part of the day’s highlights, the new administration presented Awards of Meritorious
Service and gifts to the outgoing executives in appreciation of their dedication, hard work, and
selfless contributions to the growth of the Council. The atmosphere was filled with excitement,
songs of praise, and heartfelt gratitude to God Almighty.
The event concluded with prayers of thanksgiving, symbolizing a new beginning for the CCN
South West Zone, united under a shared vision of faith, service, and leadership
