Welcome to Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN)
24, Douala Crescent, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja, FCT.

The Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN) stands as Nigeria’s foremost ecumenical body, embodying the prayer of our Lord Jesus Christ:
“That all may be one” (John 17:21).
This sacred mandate is not merely a slogan; it is the spiritual foundation upon which CCN exists. It calls diverse Christian traditions to unity of purpose, faith, and witness in faithful service to God and the Nigerian nation.
Over the decades, CCN has remained a steadfast advocate for Christian unity, peace, social transformation, and the moral conscience of the nation, offering a collective Christian voice on issues that shape Nigeria’s spiritual and civic life.
At the heart of CCN’s identity is its vision:
A United Christian Organization that is the Conscience of the Society for the fullness of life for all humankind in Nigeria.
This vision affirms CCN as more than an association of churches. It positions the Council as a moral compass, prophetic voice, and bridge-builder within Nigeria’s social, political, and spiritual landscape.
In moments of national tension, injustice, insecurity, or moral decline, CCN speaks truth with courage—anchored in Scripture and guided by Christian ethics. We envision a Nigeria where faith inspires action, righteousness guides leadership, and justice prevails for all citizens. CCN exists to be a beacon of hope, reconciliation, and moral authority, demonstrating the relevance of Christian principles in public life.
At its core, CCN exists to foster Christian unity, ethical governance, and community transformation. Our mission reflects a commitment to practical action through building capacity for transformation:
To facilitate and build capacity of Member Churches so as to ensure a sustained Christian lifestyle, witness, and transformation of the Nigerian society.
Through advocacy, dialogue, education, and ecumenical cooperation, CCN ensures that the voice of the Church remains a guiding force in addressing societal challenges—ranging from education and poverty alleviation to justice, peace, and national security.
This mission underscores a foundational conviction: a transformed Church is essential to a transformed nation.
The work and witness of CCN are shaped by enduring values that define our character and operations:
These values distinguish CCN as a credible, trusted, and principled institution in both national and ecumenical affairs.
In a Nigeria confronted by insecurity, economic hardship, social fragmentation, and moral challenges, the role of CCN has never been more critical.
The Christian Council of Nigeria provides:
CCN remains firmly committed to biblical truth, justice, equity, and righteousness. As the conscience of society, we continue to provide a unifying platform where faith meets action and where collective Christian voices influence positive change in Nigeria.
We invite churches, Christian organizations, and all people of goodwill to join the mission of the Christian Council of Nigeria—to advance unity, justice, peace, and the fullness of life for all.
Together, we can make faith impactful and transformative across Nigeria and beyond.
