Topic: Strength for the Journey Ahead
Scripture Reading:
.“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”
— Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV)
Every new week is a journey—filled with responsibilities, expectations, uncertainties, and opportunities. As believers, we are not promised a path without challenges, but we are assured of divine strength for the journey. The prophet Isaiah reminds us that true renewal does not come from human resolve or physical energy, but from waiting on the Lord.
Waiting on God is not passive resignation; it is active trust. It is anchoring our plans, decisions, and hopes in God’s wisdom. In a nation and world where pressures mount daily—economic strain, social instability, spiritual fatigue—God calls His people to draw strength from Him alone.
When we wait on the Lord, He exchanges our weakness for His power. He lifts us above discouragement, enabling us to soar like eagles, to run our race without weariness, and to walk faithfully without giving up. This is the sustaining grace needed for individuals, families, churches, and the body of Christ in Nigeria.
As the Christian Council of Nigeria continues to stand in witness, unity, and service, this week invites us to depend afresh on God’s renewing strength.
Almighty God, our ever-present help, we come before You as a people in need of renewal. As we begin this new week, strengthen us where we are weak, encourage us where we are weary, and lift us where we feel burdened. Teach us to wait on You with faith and patience. Renew the Church in Nigeria with courage, unity, and hope, that we may shine as Your light in our nation. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
