Vacancy: Programme Executive Volunteers – Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN) 2025

The Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN) is Nigeria’s pioneer ecumenical and faith-based organisation, founded in November 1929. A fellowship of mainline Protestant and African-initiated churches, CCN promotes Christian unity, social justice, and the transformation of Nigerian society. CCN is a founding member of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), an associate member of the World Council of Churches (WCC), the All Africa Conference of Churches (AACC), and a member of the Action by Churches Together (ACT) Alliance. Its mission is to unite churches in Nigeria to pursue Christian unity, social justice, peace, human dignity, and national development.

Three Areas of Engagement

Climate Justice & Food Security

Advocate for environmental stewardship, climate resilience, and equitable access to food resources across Nigerian communities.

Gender Justice & Youth

Champion gender equity, women’s rights, and youth empowerment within the Church and broader Nigerian society.

Peace Building & Conflict Resolution

Support interfaith dialogue, community reconciliation, and sustainable peace initiatives across regions of tension and division.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Age: 25 – 40 years
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • Passion for the thematic area and community development
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Commitment to Christian values and ecumenical principles
  • Prior NGO or faith-based work experience is an advantage

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement programme activities within your thematic area
  • Conduct research, documentation, and report writing
  • Engage stakeholders including churches, government, and civil society
  • Represent CCN at relevant fora, workshops, and conferences
  • Monitor, evaluate, and communicate programme impact
