CHRISTIAN COUNCIL OF NIGERIA (CCN) APPOINTS A NEW GENERAL SECRETARY

The Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN) has appointed a new General Secretary (GS). He is the Very Rev M. Evans Onyemara Ph.D. Rev. Onyemara is a Methodist Minister in Nigeria. He is an alumni of the World Council of Churches Ecumenical Institute of Bossey and belonged to the 2010-2011 set.
Very Rev Dr Onyemara is a born again child of God and strong believer in the Christian faith from the Wesleyan Protestant background. He holds a Master’s Degree from the University of Birmingham UK. He also holds an Advanced Masters in Ecumenical Studies from the University of Geneva and a Doctorate degree in Ecumenical Church History from Abia State University Uturu Nigeria. Rev. Onyemara lectured at the prestigious Methodist Theological Institute Umuahia, Abia State Nigeria for ten years and rose to the rank of Registrar before he left the Institute for the Pastoral Ministry in 2017. Until his appointment as the CCN General Secretary, he was the Presbyter of Ogui Circuit in the Methodist Diocese of Enugu and the Enugu Archdiocesan Council Secretary. He equally served as Secretary in the CCN South East Zonal Committee for the realization of the Common CCN Igbo Hymnbook. Very Rev. Onyemara is a member of the World Congress of Faiths and former South East Area Advisor PROCMURA. He is enjoying good health and happily married to Mary Onyemara. They are blessed with children. His appointment is with effect from December 1, 2019. Please let us pray for them as they move in to this capacity to serve God and humanity.
